wash and pat dry the scallops.
melt some butter in a pan, add the garlic, the scallops and cook for about 3 minutes per side, add salt, pepper, the juice of half lemon and the white wine, cook for another minute, take out the scallops and plate them, cook the sauce until it becomes thicker and pour it over the scallops
