"The merenda" is an extra meal in Italy, a small meal that takes place between lunch and dinner, so we could compare it to the more widely known "snack".

However, unlike the snack, which is seen as an unhealthy habit driven more by cravings than from actual nutritious needs, the merenda is a great way to get to the body the energy it needs between meals.

It's a classy snack!
